Nail Treatment for Winter

 Nail Treatment for Winter

Winter is a harsh season for hands and nails. During the cold months they should get extra attention and proper treatment if they are to remain healthy and beautiful.

Lotion

Let’s begin with the ingredients your winter hand lotion should contain. Carefully read the labels and if you happen to see shea butter in the ingredients list, know that this product will soften your skin and smooth it out. Also, essential oils of avocado, sunflower and coconut nourish the skin and restore its elasticity.

Nail Treatment at home

Nail Treatment for Winter
The best time for hand care is after a hot bath or shower. Gently push the cuticles toward the base of the nail, apply a thin layer of lotion or olive oil and start to lightly massage your fingers and nails. Afterwards remove the oil and apply nail hardener.

Remember

Don’t wash your hands too often. They do not need to be disinfected hourly. Such treatment seriously harms and dries the skin. Be careful to choose such washing and nourishing hand products as contain bees wax. It is especially effective if your hands are to be exposed to wind or cold weather.

Vaseline is a helpful ally. It can do wonders for rough skin patches.

Exfoliate the rough skin wedges around the nail with a soft toothbrush.

Treat your hands to a mask at least once every two weeks. Here is a homemade recipe for you:

Finely grate one carrot and add to it one tablespoon of sour cream and a teaspoon of olive oil. Mix well and apply to hands. Rinse in 10 to 15 minutes. You can apply some tips about Nail Treatment for Winter above wherever you are. Have some fun.

Manicure talks about who you are

Manicure talks about who you are

Short nails which have obviously been bitten are unseemly, yet frequent in ladies with low self-esteem. People who are in the habit of biting their nails are often nervous, irritable, short-tempered folk who are dealing with self-esteem issues.

Manicure talks about who you are
Short well-kept nails speak of a woman who is concerned with her looks but is no slave to fads and fashion. Usually she will paint her nails in darker tones or choose French manicure whenever she wants to look business-like. These women are calm, good-natured, humble, dedicated to their family and children. They are sincere and open in their intimate relationships and require the same sincerity and openness in their partner. It is very hard for them to forgive and get over lies and cheating.

Long nails are the nails of a true femme fatale. They are a mark for high self-esteem and confidant individuality. This woman does not care about popular opinion, she simply waves it away. Extremely long nails are evidence that the woman is prone to extreme in every respect, while a more temperate length reveals a woman who is moderate and considerate. In love, women with long nails are passionate and sensual.

Manicure talks about who you are

A lady with a preference for black nail polish is a rebel, has a lot of energy and strives to be well informed.

Red nail polish reveals a fiery woman, a fighter, a passionate lover. This lady is not afraid of challenges; she is curious, intelligent and impatient.

Pastel tones are used by humble women devoted to their families. They are quick to forget their own needs; they will always listen and comfort you. They are excellent mothers.

Some tips how to polishing nails

Some tips how to polishing nails

If you want your nails to look flawless you have to be very careful and attentive during the polishing process. The most basic thing is to start polishing when your hands and nails are completely dry. Wait for at least one hour after bathing, showering, swimming or doing the dishes before you take up the nail polish bottle. If your nails are on the softer side, apply hardener before polishing. Make sure that the polish you’re about to use is not close to expiring. Otherwise you run the risk of having it peel on the second day. When all of the above is taken into consideration, it is finally time for artistry. Here some tips how to polishing nails :
Some tips how to polishing nails

  •     Shake the bottle well. Drain the applicator brush before applying the polish to the nail. Having a large amount of polish on the brush will make your task harder.
  •     Polishing should begin at the middle of the nail plate in order to prevent smudging nail polish over the cuticles and skin where its removal is very difficult. So beginning at the middle, slowly slip the brush toward the base of the nail bed.
  •     Without lifting the brush, carefully slide it to the tip of the nail.
  •     The brush now contains a very small amount of polish. Use it to fill in the sides of the nail.
  •     Repeat for all nails. Let the first coat dry completely before applying a second one.
  •     If you have not managed to keep your skin and cuticles polish-free, use a concealer pencil to disguise that which cannot be removed. The other option is to use a q-tip or toothbrush dipped in nail polish remover to remove as much as you can.

Vitamins for nail care

Vitamins for nail care

Nails need a substantial dose of vitamins if they are to be healthy and beautiful. If you notice darkening and/or excessive curving of your fingernails, this is an indication that your body is deficient in vitamins from the B group. You need to increase your intake of cod liver oil and chicken eggs – they are very rich in vitamin B12.

Vitamins for nail care
Another effective method of dealing with this deficiency is an SPA manicure with products rich in aloe vera, jojoba and avocado oils. Aside from restoring your nails to health, they will also benefit the skin of your hands.

It is common knowledge that the condition of your nails is indicative of the health of your whole body, so if your nails are giving you trouble, this can be a sign of a more general health issue. Protect your nails from infections and trauma, nurture them regularly with vitamin cocktails and they will be healthy and beautiful.

Keratin is one of the key nail ingredients. It makes nails healthy and strong, forms their texture and color and protects them from harsh environmental conditions. Vitamins play a significant role in the formation of Keratin and their lack can lead to many problems – fragility, dryness, discoloration, roughness, etc.

Here is Vitamins for nail care list

Vitamin E improves nail surface and strength.

Vitamin A deficiency may lead to fragility and dryness of the nails and suspends their growth.

Deficiency of any of the B vitamins is the reason behind the formation of vertical and horizontal furrows on the nail surface. Without vitamin B12 the nails become brittle, darken and eventually curve. Lack of B vitamins can also enhance bacterial and fungal infections.

Vitamin C deficiency dries the nails and advances the formation of cuticle flakes.

You can obtain the daily amounts of these vitamins with a healthy diet, which contains a variety of nutrients and minerals. Vitamin E can also be used in a balm for nail treatment or as a nutritional supplement.

Minerals also have a great importance in nail health (especially iron and zinc) and so do amino acids. They influence not just nail growth, but also hair growth and skin health.

Home made for hand skin care

Home made for hand skin care

Almost since the beginning of civilization, gentle, well kept hands have been considered a sign of high social status and good breeding. However, there are many factors (from weather conditions to soaps) that can ruin the skin of the hands as well as the nails. The best way to help our hands is to go for the natural remedies. Diet can make a big difference. Carefully go over your menu and see whether you consume enough vegetables. You should often eat potatoes and mushroom dishes. Also eat more apricots and peaches than any other fruit and if possible try to avoid cocoa.

If you already have problem skin, the right diet will help, but not cure it entirely.

Here are some home made for hand skin care to get your healthy shape.

Irritable skin

Home made for hand skin care
Make an egg white “wrap” for your hands. Crack two eggs and remove the yolks. Beat the whites into foam and add a few drops of patchouli and tea tree oils. Apply mixture to hands and cover with rubber or plastic gloves. In the next 3 or 4 minute massage your hands with the same movements as if you are washing them. Remove the gloves and rinse with warm water. Moisturize the skin and rub it with a little olive oil.

Dry skin

Puree ½ of overripe banana and add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Leave the mask on for 20-25 minutes and rinse with cool water.

Pigment spots on the hands

The humble potato will help here. Grate one raw potato on a large grater and apply to problem area. Wash in 10 minutes and apply nourishing lotion. Another, yummier recipe: combine plain yogurt with the juice of ½ lemon. Refrigerate for 3-5 hours and apply to hands for 15 minutes.

Rough hand skin

Prepare homemade lotion with equal parts lemon juice, flax seed oil, egg yolk and honey. Mix until completely blended and apply to hands. Leave on for 10 minutes after which remove remaining lotion with a tissue.

How to manicure in minutes

How to manicure in minutes

In our busy contemporary life finding time for oneself is very difficult therefore it is no wonder that many women do not have the time to invest into caring for smaller details of their image, such as the hands and nails.

The way our hands look can speak volumes about us, about who we are, our character and personality. They are often a factor in other people’s first impression of us. This is why we should strive to keep them in good shape. If you don’t have an hour to spare on such minute details, don’t despair! There are ways to get your hands in shape for just 5 minutes.

5 minutes are more than enough to give the tips of your fingers a nice look and feel confident throughout the day. Using lighter nail polish nuances, you can work wonders in just a couple of minutes. These natural tones are recommended, because they don’t show imperfections such as peeling, cracking or smudging as much as the brighter and more vibrant colors do.

Apply the first coat of polish. This should take about 2 minutes. Wait for it to dry for about one minute and apply the second coat. Of course you should mind your hands for a few more minutes after that, because 2-ply nail polish is whimsy and needs more than 5 minutes to dry completely. Be careful not to damage it while you’re getting dressed for example.

If you can spare 10 minutes for your manicure, the procedure is almost the same. First apply a clear base for the nail polish in order to protect the nails and make your polish more durable. This takes about a minute, after which you should let this base coat dry. After that, repeat the application of two coats of polish as directed above and finalize with a top layer of nail hardener. This will take no more than two minutes but will keep your manicure for longer and give it extra shine.

How to manicure in minutes
